bel La Cruz, Born in the city of Havana, Cuba in 1971, he has over twenty years of experience in the culinary field. He graduated from high school and completed studies in Hospitality and Tourism east of Havana. He began his career as a Chef at Atlántico Hotel in Havana, Cuba in 1993, subsequently becoming part of one of the world’s most famous and symbolic Cuban Restaurant, La Bodeguita del Medio.
In 1999, he was named Executive Chef of the Bodeguitas in Mexico. His addition to the team was a very important part of the success of Bodeguita; bringing new flavors and new concepts to many parts of Mexico. There are franchise locations in Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Mexico City and the Mexican Caribbean. In 2003, he was a chef at Ocean Club in Key Biscayne, Florida. In 2005, he opened his own company called Acala where he is acting President and Executive Chef. His focus is to develop a very special concept joining Latino and south Florida flavors. This has helped him achieve the success to put him among the first and most successful chefs of his generation in South Florida.
Chef Abel also spent more than two years of development as a principal figure of Sedanos Supermarket. During this time, he recorded more than 100 audio and television commercials that simultaneously transmitted around major chains in Southern Spanish Florida. In 2005, Chef Abel La Cruz became part of the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure team in Weston, Florida.
In his six years with the Bonaventure, Chef Abel La Cruz presented their work on major television networks Telemundo, Univision, TeleFutura and America Teve. Today, Chef Abel La Cruz is Chef Instructor at the prestigious Institute of Culinary Arts Le Cordon Bleu in Miramar, Florida.
